Williams refuses to sell

It has now been two years since the Williams family left their own team. Nevertheless, the British historic team refuses to sell any shares.

Formula 1 teams are highly valued and profitable. Alpine has just raised 200 million euros after selling 24% of the team to two American funds, making it the latest example. However, each team wants to carefully keep their name on the grid.

The F1 director, Stefano Domenicali, stated that a Formula 1 team is worth almost a billion dollars. Williams Racing, the second-to-last team on the grid, as well. Three teams have reportedly been approached with offers close to a billion euros. All of them have been declined, as reported by the Formula 1 boss.

Porsche is said to have made an offer to the British team, which was declined. The German company reportedly proposed acquiring half of the team for 500 million euros. Porsche made a similar offer to the Austrian racing team Red Bull, which was also rejected.

Andretti wishes to enter Formula 1 and could be accompanied by Cadillac. The 1978 world champion had made an offer of 600 million euros to buy out the AlphaTauri and Sauber/Alfa Romeo teams. The offers were also declined.
