Max Verstappen eliminated from the Austrian Grand Prix by Kimi Antonelli
Max Verstappen was knocked out of the race on the first lap of the Austrian Grand Prix by Kimi Antonelli.

Max Verstappen retired on the first lap of the Austrian Grand Prix after being hit by Kimi Antonelli.
A clash in the first round
Kimi Antonelli tried to quickly gain positions with a late braking dive into turn 3, but the Mercedes driver locked his wheels and couldn’t slow down in time, ending up hitting Max Verstappen’s Red Bull.
The contact sent both drivers into a spin in the runoff area, causing a retirement on the very first lap.
« I’m out. I got hit like crazy. Idiots, » Max Verstappen complained on the radio.
This DNF (Did Not Finish) is a huge blow to Max Verstappen’s hopes of securing a fifth consecutive world title.
The Dutchman was already trailing by 43 points behind the championship leader, Oscar Piastri, before this 11th round of the season at the Red Bull Ring.
