Cadillac gives news of its search for drivers for F1 in 2026
Cadillac talks about its plans for the driver line-up for the 2026 season.

Cadillac has provided updates on its plans regarding the composition of its driver lineup for the 2026 F1 season, but no driver has been officially signed yet.
An arrival in 2026
The American car brand will make its entry on the grid in 2026 as the 11th Formula 1 team.
Originally, it was Andretti who wanted to join F1, but faced with strong opposition from the teams and stakeholders already in place, the project was renamed under the name Cadillac.
Cadillac will use Ferrari engines starting in 2026, before launching its own factory power units by the end of the decade.
The team director, Graeme Lowdon, has not yet signed any drivers to form the first pair for the team.
Which driver duo for the American team?
Valtteri Bottas, Sergio Perez, Mick Schumacher, and Felipe Drugovich have all been linked to Cadillac in recent months.
According to rumors, the former Mercedes driver, Valtteri Bottas, is the frontrunner for one of the two seats. The Finn has been absent from the grid since the end of last year, after failing to secure a full-time drive.
Sergio Perez is also among the possible options if Cadillac chooses to go for an experienced duo.
Asked by Sky Sports News, Graeme Lowdon discussed the issue of drivers: “The advantage is that we know well the available drivers,” he stated.
« Both the young drivers moving up from F2 and the more established drivers with solid F1 experience. We are in constant communication with these people and also spend time in the paddock. »
« Until now, the priority has been to build the car. I think that if we arrived in Melbourne without a car to run, no one would thank us », he explains.
« That said, we have initiated discussions with several drivers. There will be no announcement at Silverstone, but I would say: stay tuned. »
Cadillac reacts to Valtteri Bottas’ video
Valtteri Bottas recently hinted that he might join Cadillac, through a humorous post on social media.
In the video, shot aboard a road Cadillac, he is asked: « There are two seats, would you like to sit in one? » To which the Finn replies: « Not yet. »
« I saw this post – well, it mainly shows that he bought himself a Cadillac », reacted Graeme Lowdon.
But regarding the choice of drivers, there is a real mix of interesting profiles. And we have the advantage, for now, of being slightly ahead compared to other teams. We have a bit of time on our side, and we want to make sure that, when the time comes, the announcement of our duo will be the right one.
« We also hope that the fans will be enthusiastic, not only about the line-up but also about the arrival of a new team on the grid to support », he concluded.
We will have to wait a little longer to find out which drivers will make up this 11th team.
