Special livery for Racing Bulls at Silverstone

The Italian team will be sporting a new livery this weekend at Silverstone. The design was created by Nigerian artist Olaolu Slawn, the Faenza team and Hugo Boss.

As often during the British Grand Prix, the Italian team takes the opportunity to change its livery, and this season is no exception. Presented Tuesday evening in London at an event at the Flannels X Store in the presence of Slawn and the team’s two drivers, the VCARB 02 will feature a design inspired by the Yoruba heritage, a Nigerian people, and London urban culture. The drivers’ helmets and suits will also be modified to match the car’s design.

A decision that illustrates the recognition the team has for the Nigerian artist. Slawn’s work is unlike anything we have seen in Formula 1, and that is exactly why this collaboration made sense, said Peter Bayer, CEO of Racing Bulls.

« This collaboration with HUGO and Slawn has allowed us to push the boundaries of creativity, reflecting the bold identity of our team. Silverstone is a key moment in the season, and we are proud to bring something completely original to our fans ».

F1 opens up to other sectors

For his part, Slawn wanted to thank the Faenza team for this opportunity, as it is not his first collaboration with the sports world, having also designed the FA CUP trophy, England’s Football Cup, last May. “Art meets speed, and I’ve put my madness into it. A big thank you to HUGO and VCARB for believing in my vision,” he announced, as he will be present in the Italian team’s garage on Thursday.

A decision that once again illustrates Racing Bulls’ attraction to the art world and perfectly aligns with the shared desire to break F1 out of its usual codes and open it to other horizons, as explained by James Foster, vice president of international marketing at Hugo Boss.

Attend the unveiling of Slawn’s new, dynamic, and impactful art on the new VCARB team’s livery, as well as his exciting artistic takeover, which consolidates HUGO’s ambition to take Formula 1 beyond the track and anchor it in culture. This collaboration is a brilliant demonstration of the strength in following one’s own path, which is at the core of HUGO and VCARB’s DNA. All eyes will be on VCARB during the action at Silverstone.

Outside of the livery, the performances of Racing Bulls will also be monitored. It is coming off a successful weekend in Austria with Liam Lawson’s sixth place and is currently sixth in the constructors’ championship.

Meet on Friday to observe this new single-seater during the first free practice sessions.
