The 2022 Formula 2 champion will replace Mahindra driver Nyck de Vries, who is unavailable for the two races at the Tempelhof Airport circuit in Berlin due to simultaneous commitments in the World Endurance Championship with Toyota.

A first participation in Formula E

Felipe Drugovich drove for Maserati during the last two rookie tests in Berlin in 2023 and 2024, but this will be the first time he participates in a Formula E race, regardless of the location.

« I am very happy to confirm that I will make my debut in Formula E with Mahindra Racing in Berlin », he said. « Formula E is a championship I have known for a while, after several tests, I am excited about now having the chance to race. »

Mahindra Racing is a fantastic team, one of the standout names in the championship, and their recent results clearly show that the new car is a significant improvement. I look forward to working closely with them to prepare for Berlin, and I am sure we can have a great weekend together.

Mahindra is experiencing a sort of renaissance since the introduction of the Gen3 Evo car at the beginning of the 2024/25 season, with the Indian team climbing from 10th place in the standings last year to 5th place this year. Nyck de Vries and his teammate Eduardo Mortara have each secured a podium so far in season 11.

“It’s very exciting to be able to welcome Felipe to the team for the Berlin E-Prix,” said team director Frederic Bertrand.

« We have known for a while that we needed to find a solution for Berlin to replace Nyck. Felipe quickly established himself as the ideal candidate, his results speak for themselves, and he has been very impressive in his Formula E tests in the past. »

« Confirming this so far in advance allowed us to integrate him well into the team, prepare him properly for the race weekend, and give him the best chances to show what he can do. »

Since his F2 title in 2022 and his role as a reserve driver at Aston Martin, Felipe Drugovich has competed in a limited number of races.

After a full year without active competition in 2023, he gradually turned towards endurance, notably participating in the Rolex 24 at Daytona and the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2025 with Cadillac.
