A solid start in the rain

Third on the grid behind Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri, Lando Norris made a cautious start on a wet track. As the leaders exchanged positions in the early laps, he remained vigilant, avoiding mistakes and managing his intermediate tires perfectly in tricky conditions.

Facing unstable weather, tire choice was crucial. McLaren opted for smart pit stops, and Lando Norris capitalized on his opponents’ mistakes. While Oscar Piastri was leading the race, a restart under the Safety Car changed everything: the young Australian received a 10-second penalty for braking in a deemed dangerous manner. Lando Norris couldn’t have asked for more: he took the lead of the race shortly after and never let it go.

In the final laps, Lando Norris kept his cool despite Oscar Piastri’s comeback, and crossed the finish line as the winner, to the cheers of the British crowd. Visibly moved, he paid tribute to his supporters.

“It’s magnificent. Apart from a champion title, you can’t dream of better in terms of emotions. An incredible, stressful race as always, but the support from the fans really made the difference, so I must thank them,” he declared.
