She was back. Nearly a month after missing the 24 Hours of Le Mans due to an accident during a driver change at the Test Day, Michelle Gatting reappeared behind the wheel of a car.

The Danish driver participated this weekend in the 4 Hours of Imola with Célia Martin and Sarah Bovy. The third round of the ELMS had started very well for the Iron Dames. After securing third place in the qualifiers, the Porsche #85 managed to take the lead in the race despite a spin.

In delicate conditions, Célia Martin made a mistake and fell to the ninth position. A position that her two teammates held until the end of the event. Michelle Gatting crossed the finish line, as she was driving during her last stint.

« A difficult race in Imola. The start looked very promising, but mistakes were made and we lost the lead that Célia had built. She performed very well, but we lost a lot of points in the championship. But mistakes happen. We kept our composure, Sarah got in the car under tricky conditions, and she did everything she could, and so did I, but in the end, there wasn’t much to be done because the gap was too large. But, once again, we showed that we never give up and we fight until the end. We crossed the finish line, which is the most important, and we need to stay positive for the next round in Spa », summarized Michelle Gatting.

But before focusing on the 4 Hours of Spa, she will participate with Rahel Frey and Célia Martin in the 6 Hours of Sao Paulo as part of the WEC, this weekend.
