F1 standings after the British Grand Prix: Oscar Piastri remains in the lead, Max Verstappen loses ground
Lando Norris was the winner of Sunday's rain-soaked British Grand Prix on home soil. However, his McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri remains at the top of the F1 drivers' championship standings. Max Verstappen continues to lose ground.

Driver standings: Oscar Piastri still on top, Max Verstappen loses his way
Under pouring rain, Lando Norris skillfully stood out during the British Grand Prix, winning the race at the Silverstone circuit this Sunday. In front of his home crowd, Lando Norris crossed the finish line first, ahead of his teammate Oscar Piastri, who retains the lead in the world championship. The unfortunate outcome is for Max Verstappen, who finished only fifth at Silverstone, and is now behind the two McLarens in the overall standings.
On the French side, Pierre Gasly salvages some pride by finishing in a solid sixth place, earning 8 points. Esteban Ocon, despite a quieter weekend, remains the best Frenchman in the championship with a total of 23 points.
Also noteworthy is the great performance of Nico Hülkenberg, the real surprise of the afternoon: the German clinches his very first career podium and earns fifteen points, which allows him to surpass Esteban Ocon in the overall standings.
F1 Constructors’ Standings: McLaren widens the gap, Mercedes and Ferrari neck and neck
The British Grand Prix this Sunday marked a turning point in the season. On home soil at Silverstone, McLaren scored a resounding one-two finish with Lando Norris winning ahead of Oscar Piastri. An outstanding performance that propels the British team to the top of the Constructors’ Championship. With now 460 points on the scoreboard, McLaren crushes the competition, relegating Ferrari to second with 222 points.
Ferrari, thanks to solid but unremarkable performances from the Leclerc-Hamilton duo, retains second place, closely followed by Mercedes with 210 points. The duel between the two historic teams promises to be intense in the second half of the season, as the gaps for the runner-up position are very close.
On the Red Bull side, long at the top of the discipline, the team is struggling to regain its former glory. With only 172 points and a fifth place for Max Verstappen this weekend, the team lags behind the leading trio. The pace is no longer what it was in previous seasons.
