It’s already time to turn the page. After the relatively disappointing 24 Hours of Le Mans, the A424s are back on the track. This weekend, Alpine will compete in the 6 Hours of Sao Paulo for the fourth round of the World Endurance Championship.

After a mixed start to the season, still marked by two podiums, this event could be very important for the final standings. While it seems difficult to establish a real hierarchy among all the contenders, Alpine could stand out in Brazil.

« It’s an old-school track, with a lot of elevation changes, banking turns, and cambered corners, but above all, a unique feature: the car is rarely straight and constantly under load in the braking zones. Therefore, it will be crucial to have a car that is easy to exploit and inspires driver confidence, especially during braking. This demanding layout is also tough on the tires. We suffered from our lack of knowledge in this area last year and we are aware that tire management will once again be a critical factor. The objective is clear: continue the positive momentum from Imola and Spa, make use of our better understanding of the A424, and arrive at Interlagos with better setups to be competitive, confirm our progress, and do better than last year on this legendary track », announces Philippe Sinault, the team principal.

The French brand will even be at an advantage since it can rely on its two trios, unlike some competitors who will see at least one of their drivers absent, particularly due to the clash with Formula E.

A major point to watch will be the BoP. If Ferrari does not have a favorable BoP, Alpine is in the same situation (heavier and less powerful than at Spa) and could see some teams move ahead.
