Carlos Sainz out of the points at Silverstone after contact with Charles Leclerc
Carlos Sainz is "fed up" after a collision with Charles Leclerc cost him the points at Silverstone.

Carlos Sainz said he was tired of facing setbacks, after an unnoticed incident with Charles Leclerc, which deprived him of a points finish at the British Grand Prix.
Carlos Sainz without a solution
In the final laps at Silverstone, while battling with Charles Leclerc for 8th place, the Ferrari driver went wide at Stowe in the rain, taking with him Carlos Sainz, his former teammate.
Result: Carlos Sainz dropped to 12th place with a damaged car (front wing and floor), unable to make a comeback.
It’s the second consecutive Grand Prix without points for the Spaniard, after being forced to withdraw in Austria even before the start, due to a brake problem on the grid.
Without directly accusing the Monegasque, the Williams driver expressed his frustration with a series of misfortunes he considers beyond his control. “Everything was going well,” he declared ironically.
« Like all year so far: we were doing everything right, good strategy, good driving. I was 7th or 8th with ten laps to go, battling with Charles. He had just come out of the pits on slicks, lost control, and hit me. And there you go. I found myself 12th with a damaged car, and that’s where I stayed. Once again, no luck.
« I’m really starting to get fed up with these situations where something happens to us and there’s nothing we can do about it. Without wanting to blame Charles – it can happen to anyone – but it’s frustrating that it falls on me again, just when we were finally going to have a clean weekend », he says.
A difficult period for Carlos Sainz
After losing his seat at Ferrari to Lewis Hamilton, Carlos Sainz joined Williams this season with high expectations. But despite some good performances, he has only accumulated 13 points, for a modest 15th place in the overall standings.
In contrast, his teammate Alex Albon scored again at Silverstone and now has 46 points, solidly positioned in 8th place in the championship.
Carlos Sainz acknowledges he is going through a difficult period. « Frankly, it’s frustrating. And even depressing. »
It’s difficult to explain how you feel as an athlete: you work on the simulator, you participate in all the marketing events with a smile, you put effort into every practice session, you take the right risks during the race, you make the right strategic choices… And then, something completely out of your control eliminates you. Now we have to wait two more weeks before the next race, but at this point, it’s extremely frustrating, he explains.
