A month after the brutal 24 Hours of Le Mans, Racing Spirit of Léman will want to forget this difficult episode. The French team lost many positions and any chance of a good result after a mechanical problem in the first part of the race. Yet, the trio’s pace was impressive.

Since the beginning of the season, Patrick Barbier’s men have shown some great performances, such as the second place of the Aston Martin #10 in qualifying at Spa. That’s where all the magic of Eduardo Barrichello comes into play.

The Brazilian will also be racing at home for this next WEC event. An atypical circuit where he will be supported by full stands. However, according to him, it will not give him an advantage. « I don’t think so because I’ve never driven there before 2023. I know the track, but I haven’t raced there much. There are quite a few guys on the grid with much more experience than me here », he told us at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

At Interlagos, adaptation will also be necessary. The regular bronze driver, Derek DeBoer, will be absent. The American, who stated that he will return for the Texas WEC round, will be replaced by his compatriot Anthony McIntosh.

The 50-year-old man began his racing career at the Lucas Oil School of Racing and quickly progressed to the Mazda MX-5 Cup series, making his debut at the season finale at Road Atlanta in 2021. He also took part in the 24 Hours of Daytona at the beginning of the year with an Aston Martin. A car he shared with a certain Valentin Hasse-Clot, the leader of Racing Spirit of Léman.
