A strong performance but a frustrating result for the Iron Dames at the 6 Heures de São Paulo
The Iron Dames fought hard for their first podium of the season. But Eduardo Barrichello, in the #10 Aston Martin, prevented them from doing so with just a few minutes remaining.

They could dream. After a great qualification, the Porsche #85 started from seventh place. After a very good stint, Célia Martin handed over the wheel to an aggressive Rahel Frey. After four hours of racing, the pace of the Iron Dames suggested a podium finish.
When the Swiss driver handed over to Michelle Gatting, the pace increased even further. The pink Porsche went on the attack and secured third and then second position. However, a drive-through penalty for speeding under full course yellow ruined everything.
Finally, almost, since at the end of the last pit stop, the GT3 of the women’s team was in second place, just ahead of the #81 Corvette. Despite a long and intense defense, the yellow car finally took the upper hand. Further back, a fiery Eduardo Barrichello had one mission: to get onto the podium.
The Aston Martin #10 came back extremely quickly and, after giving it her all in defense, Michelle Gatting had to give way just a few minutes before the checkered flag. The Iron Dames eventually finished in fourth place.
We secured fourth place, which is our best result in the WEC in 2025. It’s a bit bittersweet because we had the potential to do better. Since Le Mans, we’ve definitely gained momentum and had pace throughout the race, but unfortunately, we weren’t flawless. We will keep working hard and pushing. I’m happy with the team’s performance and we were so close to the podium. Next time, we will get there, announces Rahel Frey, the most experienced member of the crew.
The 100% female crew came very close to their first podium of the season. While there is obviously some frustration after this fourth place, it is important to highlight the progress of this trio. They are understanding this Porsche better and better and are managing to extract more and more performance from it. In Austin, if the BoP is favorable to the #85, they might finally make it to the podium.
