At Spa, Charles Leclerc wants to forget his failed weekend at Silverstone
The Ferrari driver is counting on the new rear suspension that will be fitted to his single-seater to get closer to McLaren on a circuit that the Monegasque loves.

On the grounds of his first Formula 1 victory, Charles Leclerc intends to turn the page on his very complicated British Grand Prix three weeks ago at Silverstone. Between strategy and driving mistakes, the Monégasque driver and his team have been working hard in recent days to find solutions.
« There are always “off” weekends in a season, and Silverstone was one of them. With the team, we worked a lot to turn the situation around in the wet conditions because the car was incredibly difficult to drive in these conditions. It’s important to have Lewis’s experience today, coming from another team, so there’s a lot of work behind the scenes to improve the situation. »
Delighted to be back on a circuit he appreciates, Leclerc will debut the new rear suspension, which Ferrari is counting on heavily to return to the forefront.
It’s a great circuit here, I like it a lot. I’ve had quite a bit of success and I’ve always been competitive here so I’m happy to be back on track and I expect a good weekend. Will this new suspension be THE change we’re all waiting for in the team? I would be cautious before claiming that. It’s a change that goes in the right direction but it won’t yet, I think, allow us to make up the three or four tenths we lack to fight with McLaren for victories.
Cautious but confident, Leclerc and his team will have some initial answers this Friday with, due to the Sprint weekend, the only free practice session on the schedule for this 2025 Belgian Grand Prix.
