Belgian Grand Prix – Qualifying: Lando Norris sets the fastest time ahead of Oscar Piastri and Charles Leclerc
The two McLarens will monopolize the top two places on the grid for tomorrow's race, while Charles Leclerc has managed to get ahead of Max Verstappen.

Q1
No observation round for this qualifying session. Many drivers position themselves at the end of the pit lane several minutes before the green light, in order to set a time as quickly as possible.
Quickly, the two McLaren drivers set the two best times. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri are clearly on another level. Further back, Lewis Hamilton is struggling. While everyone thinks he qualifies for Q2 with the 7th fastest time, his lap time is deleted for exceeding track limits at the top of Raidillon de l’Eau Rouge.
As the day before, the substitute for the seven-time world champion at Mercedes, Kimi Antonelli, is also eliminated in Q1. Finally, a disaster for Aston Martin with the last two spots on the grid for tomorrow’s race.
**List of eliminated:** Lewis Hamilton, Franco Colapinto, Kimi Antonelli, Fernando Alonso, Lance Stroll
Q2
Same scenario during this second part of the qualifications as in the first. The drivers quickly set a time before heading back to their pit to fit new tires.
During these first timed laps, Oliver Bearman had quite a scare by losing control of his Haas in the double-left Pouhon, before managing to bring the car back on track.
The two McLarens once again set the two fastest times, while it’s “two out of three” for the French with the eliminations of Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly and the qualification of Isack Hadjar.
List of eliminated: Esteban Ocon, Oliver Bearman, Pierre Gasly, Nico Hülkenberg, Carlos Sainz.
Q3
It’s a battle between the two McLarens shaping up to take pole position. Piastri sets the early pace by taking the fastest time before it is snatched by his teammate Norris.
Max Verstappen is far behind by half a second and is even overtaken by Charles Leclerc for third place. Alex Albon places his Williams in an excellent fifth place ahead of George Russell and Yuki Tsunoda.
Hadjar is 8th, ahead of his teammate Liam Lawson, and the discreet but fast Gabriel Bortoleto completes the Top 10.
