Genesis Magma Racing’s hypercar finally hits the track
The Korean manufacturer's hypercar has reached a new milestone after taking to the track for its first private test drive.

The Genesis GMR-001, which will be entered next year in the World Endurance Championship, has finally conducted its first test. The hypercar completed a shakedown at the Paul Ricard circuit.
« Every step we take with the GMR-001 is extremely valuable, » states Technical Director François-Xavier Demaison. « The preparation work that André and Pipo did on the simulator and during the shakedown means we have a good starting point for the initial tests. By working with our chassis partners at Oreca throughout testing and development, we will be able to quickly analyze the data from each test, find a solution, and validate it to fully benefit from each track session. »
As a reminder, the structure is based in Castellet, just a few meters from the circuit of the same name. This is to facilitate the development of the car. For now, only Pipo Derani and André Lotterer have been announced as drivers. Other names should soon be announced by the team managed by Cyril Abiteboul.
