Watch a video of the Genesis GMR-001 shakedown
Genesis has finally taken to the track with its Hypercar, which will compete in the 2026 World Endurance Championship.

After announcing that the first test runs of its Hypercar had just taken place, Genesis released a video on YouTube with footage of these initial tests.
Pipo Derani and Andre Lotterer, the only two announced in this project so far, took the wheel. As a reminder, the car is set to compete in the World Endurance Championship in 2026.
The session focused on verifying the mechanical and electrical systems, validating the installation of the engine, hybrid system, and gearbox, as well as finalizing the last preparations before the first full test. An extensive testing program will be conducted throughout 2025, and the data from each session will be analyzed by the team’s engineers to support ongoing development, simulation calibration, and homologation, says Genesis.
