Alex Albon elected “Driver of the day” in Montreal
Author of a flawless race finishing in seventh place, the Williams driver is the driver of the day of the Canadian Grand Prix 2023.

After a successful qualification that saw him start from ninth place on the grid, Alex Albon drove a perfect race behind the wheel of a strong Williams car on the Gilles Villeneuve circuit in Montreal.
Consistently in the Top 10 throughout the race, the Thai driver managed to preserve his tires, allowing him to cleanly defend his positions. Towards the end of the race, for instance, he resisted Esteban Ocon without the Alpine driver being able to attempt an overtaking maneuver, crossing the finish line in 7th position.
Taking advantage of a Williams with a top speed exceeding 340 km/h, Albon achieved his best result since joining Grove in 2022 in Canada, and even his best result since the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2020, where he finished 4th behind the wheel of a Red Bull.
Credited with 28% of the votes in the “Driver of the Day” ranking, Alex Albon takes advantage of this magnificent result to gather the six points of the 7th place and thus make a leap in the standings as he is now 12th in the championship, just behind Lando Norris.
