The trophies from the Imola Grand Prix were sold at auction to help the Emilia-Romagna
The auction of unused trophies from the Emilia-Romagna Formula 1 Grand Prix raised over £200,000 for a fund to aid victims of the floods.

After the cancellation of the race last month, the promoter of the Imola circuit has agreed with the Italian ASN and Formula 1 to donate the three trophies and the winning constructors’ version to a charity auction. Pirelli has also offered the prize for the pole position tire, while the sparkling wine supplier Ferrari Trento has donated a bottle to be used on the podium.
All these objects have been autographed by the 20 current drivers during the Spanish GP weekend in Barcelona. The trophies have also been signed by the 10 team managers.
The auction was organized by Memento Exclusives, a partner of Formula 1, and the proceeds were donated to the Agency for Territorial Security and Civil Protection of the Emilia-Romagna region. The sale represented a unique opportunity for fans or collectors to acquire modern F1 trophies, even if they were not used and awarded to specific drivers.
In addition to the autographs, the trophies also bear the engraved names of the winners of the Imola Grand Prix between 1980 and 2022, including Nelson Piquet, Didier Pironi, Patrick Tambay, Alain Prost, Elio de Angelis, Ayrton Senna, Nigel Mansell, and Michael Schumacher.
£247,171 raised in total
The highest price reached £71,275 for the constructors’ trophy, which turned out to be more popular than the drivers’ version, sold for £60,100. The trophies for the second and third places were sold for £37,325 and £32,050 respectively. The Pirelli pole position trophy reached £40,745. The Ferrari Trento bottle, on the other hand, fetched £11,175. In total, a sum of £247,171 was collected.
The Pirelli competition boss, Mario Isola, stated about the sale: “Once again, the F1 community has shown great generosity by raising a sum of money through this auction, which will be donated to those who are still suffering from the damages caused by the severe weather conditions in Emilia-Romagna. These consequences will weigh heavily on the population for a long period of time. Any help, no matter how small, can make a difference, and we are happy to have made our contribution.”
Signed posters by Alfa Romeo drivers Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu are still available in the Emilia Romagna section of Memento’s website.
