Charles Leclerc was in the front row, in the Ferrari pit, to savor the victory of the Ferrari AF Corse team over Toyota during the centenary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The 499P no.51 of Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado, and Antonio Giovinazzi put an end to the Japanese brand’s domination of the race since the 2018 edition, ensuring Ferrari’s first victory since 1965 upon its return to the Circuit de la Sarthe.

Charles Leclerc and Frédéric Vasseur, Formula 1 team director, were present in the Ferrari garage throughout the 24 hours. They thus enjoyed the atmosphere and tension that prevailed during a dramatic centenary race which saw the lead change hands on multiple occasions.

A participation? Yes, but when?

On Eurosport’s microphone, the Monegasque declared, “It’s an absolutely incredible feeling. The victory of a Ferrari is incredible after so many years away, so it’s a very special edition. The second Ferrari didn’t have any luck, we had a small impact with a little rock on a radiator, which cost us a lot of time. But I am really happy that Ferrari won, it was an incredible experience.”

Regarding the question of whether Charles Leclerc could participate in Le Mans in the future, he replied: “Why not. I would be delighted. It’s an incredible event. It’s true that at some point in my life, I want to check that box, but when? I have no idea.”

While waiting to race on the legendary 24 hours circuit, the 25-year-old driver hopes to regain victory in Formula 1. His last success dates back to the 2022 Austrian Grand Prix.
