Peugeot is not bothered by the rain

For its return to Le Mans, Peugeot hopes to achieve a good result. The rain, which is forecasted for the start, could shake things up. The lion brand intends to take advantage of it.

Peugeot is back at Le Mans. Thirty years after its first victory in the Sarthe, the lion brand has been facing more difficulties since its arrival in Hypercar. However, both 9X8 cars have made progress throughout the week, with significant work done during the test day last Sunday.

First of all, the test day last Sunday was very important for us because it was our first time here in Le Mans. It was also an important day for the technical team as we learned a lot of things about this circuit that we cannot simulate well due to its technical specificities, announces Olivier Jansonnie, technical director of Peugeot Sport.

The expected rain at the start

The two cars will go far. They will start from the 10th and 11th positions. These results were not satisfactory for the Peugeot team, even though they admitted they couldn’t do better.

The team is very excited and also a little nervous, as Le Mans is a legend and we know it won’t be easy, but we are very focused. We try to check everything again and again before the start and we can’t wait to hit the track tomorrow.

All teams will have to face difficult weather conditions. According to the latest reports, rain is expected to arrive a few minutes before the start of this 91st edition. Regarding the weather, personally I would like a bit of everything, sun, rain… but I’m not sure if the drivers would agree with me. I think it would make the race even more exciting, but the weather is not what worries me.
