Louis Delétraz, “three years ago, I wasn’t the same driver”
The Swiss driver returns to Le Mans with a spirit of revenge. Two years after seeing victory slip away from him, he hopes to secure first place in the LMP2 category.

He has always held it against him. And in memory. In 2021, Louis Delétraz and the crew of the WRT number 41 lost everything at the last moment. While leading the LMP2 category, the car played a dirty trick on them. The three men didn’t even finish classified since they didn’t complete the last lap of the race.
During a press conference organized this Tuesday in Le Mans, the Swiss admits to still having this event in mind and hopes to finally achieve this victory. We lost a bit of a baby in 2021 in the last minutes and it’s true that we still think about it. We still wonder how it’s possible. We want to win Le Mans with Robert [Kubica] with the 41 car.
Experience through IMSA
Louis Delétraz always teams up with the Polish driver. The duo is very close on the track, but also in their private lives. This bond can help them in their quest. The first time we met, we shared a passion for motorsport. We exchanged a lot and we agree on car settings both on and off the track as friends. He is truly a friend. I have complete trust in him.
The driver of car number 41 indicates that the experience gained since this event has made him a better driver. Especially with his participation in the American championship, IMSA, but also in the ELMS. Three years ago, I wasn’t the same driver, I have evolved a lot. In 2021, endurance racing was completely new to me. Traffic management is totally different from single-seaters, and it was my weak point. Going to IMSA, I developed potential because there are more cars on track.
The WRT Team is currently in second place in the LMP2 championship, eight points behind United Autosports.
