For Fred Vasseur and Mike Krack, the first impression of the car’s developments is positive
Both Ferrari and Aston Martin came to Barcelona with an upgrade package for their respective cars. The team managers expressed optimism regarding the initial data, while remaining cautious.

Aston Martin is the team that has introduced the most upgrades for the Barcelona Grand Prix. In a press conference after the first free practice session, Mike Krack, team principal, confirmed that it was more of a testing session than a training session for the race. “We had a lot of new things to try: the tires, some aerodynamic improvements. There was a lot of work to do. It was important to get a feel for this old layout. Some of us remember the old layout, but I think it’s good to be back with this one. Overall, it was an observation session and everything went well from that perspective,” he said.
Despite the good results in recent races, the Luxembourger has indicated that Aston Martin does not intend to be aggressive. “If ‘aggressive’ means taking risks, the answer is clear: we are not gamblers, we are a data-driven team, we analyze all the information we have,” he explained.
A first positive impression for Ferrari
Aston Martin is not the only team coming to Barcelona with a new package of upgrades. Ferrari has also made some changes to their car, particularly to their sidepods, which now resemble Red Bull’s strategy.
On this subject, Fred Vasseur also expressed positivity about the performance of the car. “The initial feeling is positive. We had a very intense session where we tested the new tire prototypes and other improvements. This opens up new perspectives for the future development of the car, and it’s promising.”
Regarding the “silly season” with rumors surrounding the transfers of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, Fred Vasseur commented that the team is primarily focused on car development and technical aspects, rather than replacing its drivers.
It is clear that the team is fully focused on the improvements and development of the car, leaving aside speculations about the drivers. With new improvements and hard work, the team hopes to achieve good results in the upcoming races, starting with this weekend.
