Nico Hülkenberg had a very complicated Sunday in Monaco. Found guilty of a double collision with Logan Sargeant’s Williams in the Fairmont Hotel turn during the first lap of the race, the Haas driver initially received a five-second penalty. This penalty also came with two penalty points on his license.

But when executing this penalty by his team during a pit stop, the mechanics touched the black and white car before the end of the five seconds. For this incorrect enforcement of the initial penalty, the German driver received a new penalty of ten seconds, this time.

A situation that is not without reminding of the one experienced by Esteban Ocon during the inaugural race in Bahrain this season, during which the Alpine team had also worked on the Frenchman’s car before the end of a penalty.
