The Las Vegas Grand Prix is not a competitor for the Miami promoter
The 2023 Formula 1 season will see three Grand Prix races held on American soil. Tom Garfinkel, promoter of the Miami Grand Prix, has shown enthusiasm for hosting a Grand Prix in Las Vegas.

In 2023, three Grand Prix races will take place in the United States. After making a stop in Miami, the Formula 1 paddock will head to Austin in October for the “United States Grand Prix”, then return to American soil three weeks later to compete in the “Las Vegas Grand Prix”.
This new race will be held at night, with the start given on Saturday evening. The drivers will race on the urban track of Las Vegas, which is 6.120 km long, passing through the Las Vegas Strip and circling around the most prestigious hotels and casinos in the city. The last time Formula 1 came to the sin city was in 1982. The race took place in the parking lot of Caesars Palace.
Tom Garfinkel, CEO of the Miami Dolphins and promoter of the Miami Grand Prix, sees no drawbacks and has dismissed any concerns about Vegas stealing the spotlight from Miami, believing that the addition of this event can only be beneficial for the sport. “I’m excited, I think it’s good for the sport, good for American F1 fans, and I think it should be really exciting,” he explained.
(I) I have been in the world of car racing for a long time, but I have already sat in front of the television with someone who knew nothing about car racing or Formula 1, then I showed them the race and made them fall in love with this sport. These events are excellent for developing the fan base, things like Netflix have obviously been excellent for telling stories, engaging people, and making them want to come to the site and participate in the event.
