Albon disagreed with Williams’ strategy
The Thai driver expressed his frustration on the radio regarding his team's strategic choices during the Miami GP.

Alex Albon was heard expressing his frustration during radio discussions with his Williams team at the end of the Miami Grand Prix. The Thai driver expressed his frustration when he was asked, at one point during the race, to push on his tires. At another moment in the Grand Prix, Albon felt that he should push harder instead of managing his tires.
After the race, which he finished in 14th place, Albon took to the radio to express his feelings: « We didn’t have the pace. This track exposes all of our weaknesses. We can’t race like this, everyone is passing me. If I don’t defend, they just take the inside line. Their braking points are 5-10 meters later than mine. We can’t manage the tires because I need the rails to avoid locking up the front. And the dirt is really working against us, it’s unbelievable, as soon as I’m on the racing line it’s fine but as soon as I go off, it’s really tough here. »
His track engineer, however, praised him in return: “Alex, everything is well noted, I know there will be other tracks where it will come back, but congratulations on your work.”
The 27-year-old driver was also critical of the starting strategy: “We wanted to push very hard in the first few laps with the tire and it caused it to inflate. So I didn’t agree with that either.”
Despite promising performances in qualifying (8th in Australia, 11th in Miami), Williams currently occupies the last place in the constructor standings with one point.
