A fake exclusive interview

“A worldwide sensation”. “The first interview” is the highly enticing title of the German magazine “Die Aktuelle” on April 15th. This gossip magazine featured an image of Schumacher on its cover, promising the first interview with the champion since his skiing accident in late 2013. Some responses from him were promised in the two-page article, which includes quotes that appear to come from Schumacher, discussing his recovery and family. However, it is only at the very end of this so-called interview that the magazine specifies that it is the work of an artificial intelligence chat bot.

There are websites where one can chat with celebrities. The interview was on the internet. On a page related to artificial intelligence, add the text. One of these websites, character.ai, is mentioned in the article.

This false interview immediately sparked strong reactions, especially among the former pilot’s fans who were mostly shocked. The Schumacher family has therefore declared to the German media Ubermedien that they intend to take legal action. The case should therefore continue, especially since the Schumi clan and Die Aktuelle have previously experienced a similar conflict. In 2014, the magazine falsely featured a headline on their front page with a photo of Michael and his wife, Corinna.

Kept secret

We are trying to continue as a family, as Michael loved it and still does. The private is private, as he always said, reacted the wife of the seven-time Formula 1 World Champion. It is very important for me that he can continue to enjoy his privacy as much as possible. Michael always protected us, and now we are protecting Michael.

Since his skiing accident that happened in Méribel nearly 10 years ago, the health condition of Michael Schumacher has been kept extremely secretive by his family. To the point that Eddie Jordan, the man who launched his career in 1991, revealed in an interview with a German media outlet last March that he had no contact with him.
