Daniel Ricciardo will carry out tests for Red Bull during the year
Christian Horner confirmed that his reserve driver, Daniel Ricciardo, will indeed carry out tests for the Austrian team this year, and he hopes to see him regain "his love for the sport".

The 33-year-old Australian had admitted a few days ago that his two-season stint at McLaren had affected his self-confidence.
Some training sessions are planned.
In the process of rebuilding at Red Bull Racing, as a reserve driver, Daniel Ricciardo spends most of his time at the factory, in the simulator, as well as in meetings, although he was recently spotted in the paddock during the Australian Grand Prix.
“He really gives it his all,” says Christian Horner. “He participates in all the briefing meetings, works hard in the simulator, provides race assistance, and does development work.”
Daniel is a positive energy to have around him and it’s wonderful to see him rediscover his zest for life, to see that big smile on his face – he lights up a room when he walks in.
His popularity in Formula 1… even though he is not a driver, he is probably still the most popular driver here, and for us, it is simply positive to have him in the team, contributing to the team, the drivers, and the engineering team.
« We hope that he will rediscover his love for this sport. He will make some attempts for us later in the year, and we will see how it goes for him. But I think it’s a different experience. He has taken the plunge and embraced this new role. »
Ready just in case
The Englishman is convinced that the eight-time Grand Prix winner will be there if he is called upon to replace Max Verstappen or Sergio Pérez during the race if necessary.
« I would say he’s not far from being ready! » Horner joked.
« He is in good shape, he has kept himself in shape and in good health. I think he trains hard and he is ready to leave if given the opportunity. »
Meanwhile, another team manager has opened the door for Daniel Ricciardo to return to the grid.
