Aston Martin will have its new factory open in one month
A few weeks before the team's move, the British stable presents its new factory in a video.

It was in this brand new, unfinished factory that the sensational AMR23 was discovered. A new car in a new factory, a symbol of this team’s intention to start fresh after a complicated 2022 season. The mission seems to be successful as the team has secured three podium finishes in three Grand Prix races.
Two months after the presentation, Guy Austin, project manager, discusses the progress of the work on Aston Martin’s new headquarters in Silverstone. The first building is nearly ready to welcome the team who will move in within a month. The electrical and plumbing work is being completed, while the furniture will arrive soon. New machines are also being installed.
All the workers work tirelessly to ensure that the site is ready on time. As Guy Austin explains, they start working at 7:30 in the morning and finish around 4:00 or 4:30 in the afternoon. But we also have a night shift team. They start in the mid-afternoon, overlap with the day shift team, and finish between 10 and 12 at night.
The new operational wind tunnel by late 2024
A second building housing the staff’s restaurant, a gym, and simulators will soon be built. Construction is set to begin in June or July and is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2024, just like the wind tunnel, construction of which will start next month. This will allow Fernando Alonso’s team and Lance Stroll to be independent of the Mercedes wind tunnel.
This ultramodern complex of 37,000 m² revolves around the already existing factory and cost between £150 and £200 million. « Our new buildings not only reflect the extent of our determination to become a force capable of winning world championships, but also the scale of our growth and development as an organization, » stated Lawrence Stroll, the team owner, to GPblog during the launch of the project.
