The appeal from Ferrari regarding Sainz’s penalty is indeed going to be reviewed by the FIA
Ferrari and their driver Carlos Sainz will be heard by the FIA next week to discuss the penalty imposed on the Spanish driver during the Australian Grand Prix.

The final ranking of the Australian Grand Prix 2023 may not be definitive yet. The FIA has indeed agreed to review Ferrari’s appeal following the penalty received by their driver Carlos Sainz. The hearing will take place on Tuesday, April 18th at 8am.
At the moment of the third standing start of this race, following a second red flag, Carlos Sainz was guilty of a collision with Fernando Alonso. In addition to this incident, the Alpines of Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly collided, while Logan Sargeant’s Williams couldn’t avoid the rear of Nyck de Vries’ AlphaTauri. This chaos prompted the race direction to display a third red flag. Given the timing of this decision, the few meters covered after this third start were not taken into account, allowing the drivers to resume their positions on the grid.
Or, Carlos Sainz was given a 5-second penalty on his race time for causing the Aston Martin number 14 to spin. A decision that the Madrilenian deemed as the most unfair of his career in motorsport, and one that Ferrari quickly contested. Both the Italian team and their driver had actually complained about not being heard. This will be rectified at the beginning of next week.
