Before the free practice sessions begin, here are some numbers that will give you references to follow this third round of the 2023 Formula 1 World Championship.

The key figures of the Australian Grand Prix

2: Number of cancellations in 2020 and 2021 related to the Covid-19 pandemic.

4: The record for victories, held by Michael Schumacher. Vettel could have equaled it, but with his retirement, his counter will remain stuck at 3 victories.

6: The record for the fastest laps in a race held by Kimi Räikkönen. A favorite exercise of the Finn, he set the bar high in Australia!

8: Pole position record at the Australian Grand Prix held by Lewis Hamilton, all on the Albert Park circuit.

Surprisingly, he only turned two of them into victories (2008 and 2015).

11: The Australian Grand Prix took place in Adelaide (from 1985 to 1995 inclusive).

14: The number of turns making up the Albert Park circuit. Reduced by two turns after the removal of the Clark chicane in 2021.

24: In percentage, the chance of winning after qualifying second.

25: The Australian Grand Prix has been held in Melbourne since 1996.

37: This is the 37th edition of the Australian Grand Prix.

40: The percentage chance of winning after qualifying in pole position.

58: The number of laps needed to complete the minimum regulation distance of 305km for a Grand Prix.

198: The number of laps led by Michaël Schumacher on the Melbourne circuit. In contrast, Max Verstappen completed only two laps.

307.57: In kilometers, the distance covered in the race after 58 laps.

930: The number of laps completed by Fernando Alonso in races on this Australian track. It’s a record, surpassing Kimi Räikkönen’s 869 laps. Both of them started their careers in 2001 on this very track.
