Valtteri Bottas will wear a helmet in Australia that will be auctioned off
This weekend, Valtteri Bottas will be sporting a new helmet for the Australian Grand Prix, which will be auctioned off for the benefit of the Australian indigenous community.

In a statement released this Tuesday, the Alfa Romeo team announced that their driver Valtteri Bottas will wear a special helmet for the Australian Grand Prix, designed by an Australian Aboriginal artist. The Finnish driver is deeply connected to the local Aboriginal culture: “Australian culture and history are things I have been greatly interested in in recent years, especially through my partner, Tiffany, who is from here, and we are committed to paying special tribute to the indigenous community,” says the Finnish driver.
The artist behind this helmet, Ricky Kildea, himself an Aboriginal, is delighted to represent his local culture. He states, “I am proud of my indigenous identity and painting is a way for me to strengthen my connection with it.” He adds, “It was an honor to work alongside Valtteri on this project, and I can’t wait to see our helmet hit the track this weekend.” I am passionate about making a real difference within the indigenous community.
The auction of this unique helmet started on Tuesday and will end on April 11, on the website f1authentics.com. The funds raised from this sale will be donated to two associations of the Australian indigenous community, in connection with the team’s charitable partner, Save the Children.
