It is a very upset Eddie Jordan who spoke out about Mercedes. In a podcast he regularly hosts with David Coulthard called “Formula for Success,” the former team boss did not hold back in his criticism of Toto Wolff, whom he blames for the problems faced by the German team, especially regarding the concept of the W14.

After the Bahrain Grand Prix, Toto Wolff admitted that he had witnessed one of the worst races of his career. He subsequently announced a complete overhaul of the W14. Eddie Jordan believes that the current problems are entirely the fault of the German technician: “He is the boss of Mercedes. Therefore, the responsibility falls on him,” declares the Irishman before adding that it is unfair to blame anyone in the design team.

An attitude of dishonesty and rudeness

Eddie Jordan accuses Toto Wolff of blaming his engineers instead of acknowledging his own mistakes. He believes that criticizing members of his design team is dishonest behavior. It’s truly rude. He calls on the Austrian to take responsibility to motivate his team, currently in a negative spiral. Toto should be a man, stand up, take matters into his own hands, and motivate his team, says the former team boss. Eddie Jordan believes that Toto Wolff is competent enough to solve the current problems himself. I think Toto is big enough, strong enough, and man enough to face this and resolve it, concludes Jordan.

Mercedes recorded its first podium of the season this weekend in Australia, thanks to Lewis Hamilton’s second-place finish. However, the performances of the W14 were overshadowed by the poor reliability experienced by George Russell’s car, with the engine catching fire after 17 laps of the Australian Grand Prix.
