For Alonso, there is work left to do on the Aston Martin
The double Formula 1 world champion stated that there is still work to be done on the Aston Martin to keep it competitive, despite a very satisfying first race. The Spanish driver also expects a more intense race in Jeddah.

For its first Grand Prix of the season, Aston Martin impressed the paddock. After a fabulous race, Fernando Alonso secured third place while Stroll finished sixth, between the two Mercedes.
But for the “Asturian Bull,” there is still work to be done. Alonso warns that a lot of work is needed if the team wishes to maintain its current good form. However, the Spaniard expects a completely different weekend in Jeddah in terms of learning, after spending two weeks in Bahrain. “We spent two weeks in Bahrain, and everyone became very familiar with the circuit. This Friday, the learning curve will be much steeper,” he warns on RN 365. In Jeddah, he expects a very different challenge because it is a completely different circuit from what we experienced during the opening race.
Alonso will know more about the car after Australia.
Like other teams in the paddock, the double world champion does not expect to fully understand the car in Jeddah but rather after Melbourne, the venue for the third round.
“It will only be after Australia that we will have a better idea of the overall performance, as by then we will have had three different race weekends on diverse circuits in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Australia,” says the Spaniard. He prefers to stay level-headed about this weekend and expects hard work to try to achieve another good result this weekend.
