Charles Leclerc will receive a ten-place penalty on the starting grid in Jeddah. This is a consequence of a third control electronics change after just one race.

The weekend has not even started and it is already looking very complicated for Charles Leclerc. Indeed, the Monegasque driver will receive a 10-place grid penalty and will start at best in 11th position. A third change of electronics after a race is the cause, knowing that a first change had already been made earlier in the weekend. This problem had caused him to retire from the race in Bahrain, which had already reached the maximum allowed for the entire season. He is obviously the first driver of the season to receive a penalty.

Interviewed by RacingNews365, Frédéric Vasseur accepts the penalty and remains optimistic about the driver’s motivation. “The penalty is of course not good news, but the season is still long. But don’t think for a second that Charles could be demotivated. He works with the team and pushes the team. He pushes everyone in a positive way,” declares the French technician.
