Bahrain Grand Prix: Charles Leclerc, the unlucky one
For the opening of the season, Charles Leclerc was unable to finish the Bahrain Grand Prix. Suffering from an engine failure, he retired in the 41st lap.

The Monegasque had no luck this Sunday on the Sakhir circuit. After a strong start, Charles Leclerc, starting fourth on the grid, was fighting for the podium until he experienced a loss of power on his Ferrari. He is forced to retire 16 laps before the finish.
Besides the breakdown, it should be noted that there is excessive tire wear that is currently preventing Ferrari from challenging Red Bull, who is in the lead. Disappointed, he reacted on Canal+’s microphone.
There was no more power… It’s a shame because it’s on these weekends that we have to maximize the points. It’s in the more difficult moments that we need to be there. And we were there, we had a good race considering the car’s potential. Unfortunately, this weekend, we are a little behind and Red Bull is really on another level, especially in the race. So, third place is the best we could do.
It was the plan put in place after the qualifications. I didn’t have too many doubts about it. Then we made a different tire choice than Red Bull’s, to be honest, I don’t think it would have made much of a difference whether we were on softs or hards. They are way too fast this weekend for us. I don’t know what the origin of the problem is, so I don’t want to make too many comments. But we didn’t finish the race, so we’ll have to look into that.
A Sunday far away from Max Verstappen who had a calm race to triumph at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
