Magnussen is categorical, Haas has “taken a step”
Income from the underprivileged areas in 2022, the American team seems capable of confirming, or even doing better this season, if we rely on the optimism of Kevin Magnussen.

The winter tests have been productive on board the VF23 and no reliability issues were encountered over the course of the three days. The Danish driver, who posted the seventh fastest time of the tests, believes that Haas’ new car has taken another step forward compared to last season.
Haas has definitely taken a step forward. It’s a new era for the team that we’re entering, I would say, affirms Magnussen.
« It’s exciting because I think we are going in the right direction and it will be thrilling to see how far we go. Everyone on the team can see that we are well positioned and making progress, getting closer to our goals. »
In progress, but to what extent?
Even if the team is in a phase of progression, Magnussen observes that it is nonetheless difficult to know where the team stands in comparison to the competition.
These advancements motivate everyone. I’m quite happy, although it’s always difficult to see how much we have progressed [compared to others]. One thing is certain, I feel good with the car », expresses the Danish person.
We know that we can go faster, but maybe they [the others] have achieved these times and they can also go even faster.
We try not to focus too much on the time and instead concentrate solely on our program and the tasks we have planned to truly deepen our knowledge of the car.
« Testing can sometimes be frustrating as a driver because you put things on the car and you know they won’t go in the right direction for the rest of the day. But you still have to try, just to learn and see how the car reacts. »
