The fans see Max Verstappen winning the title in 2023
According to a survey conducted by Sky, most fans see Max Verstappen retaining his title in 2023.
The TV channel conducted a simple survey with the question: Which driver has the best chances of winning the world championship this year?
The trend is quite clear to elect Max Verstappen as the winner with 40% of the votes. Behind, the ranking is more surprising.
The Mercedes driver, Lewis Hamilton, arrives in second position with 30% of the votes. Fans thus appear optimistic about the seven-time world champion’s return to form after a difficult 2022 season. Third place goes to Charles Leclerc, who receives 6% of the votes.
In the popularity rankings, the results change little. Verstappen remains the most supported with 26% of the votes while Hamilton is third with 21%. However, there’s a surprise, as 24% of those surveyed voted for Nico Hülkenberg, putting him in second place. Charles Leclerc, who is a favorite for the title, is far behind with only 5% of the votes.
The survey was conducted just two weeks before the first Grand Prix of the season among a sample of 1,038 F1 fans.
