Max Verstappen believes that the entry fees in Formula 1 are too high

This year, the FIA is expected to receive nearly 25 million euros from drivers and teams so that the entire field can race in 2023. A sum deemed absurd by the reigning champion.

A hefty sum. For the traditional entry fees in Formula 1 for 2023, the FIA should receive around 25 million euros from all parties involved: teams and drivers. Each driver must pay an amount of approximately $16,000, in addition to $2,100 per point scored in 2022.

For the stables, the bill is even steeper. A base of $617,687 is required with an additional $6,174 per unit for the 2022 championship. Red Bull will thus have to part with a total of 5.3 million euros. In addition to this amount, 1 million must be added for the expenses of the two drivers (Super license and points earned).

This astronomical total is deemed too high by Max Verstappen, which costs him alone nearly a million dollars. “I find this amount absurd,” he confided to ServusTV. “I don’t think it’s right that we pay so much. It’s not the case in other sports. And there are more and more races.” We must also mention the addition of sprint races as well as the point for the fastest lap, which was integrated into the regulations in 2019.

The theoretical total per driver and team.
