Fernando Alonso criticizes his previous teams in comparison to Aston Martin
Alonso is getting ready to start another chapter at Aston Martin. The 41-year-old driver reflects on the mentality of his new team that he has experienced, and highlights the team's mindset to want to rise in power, especially through the recent recruitments made.

Before Aston Martin, the Silverstone team had experienced a variety of colors, such as Jordan, Force India, or more recently Racing Point, but they have never been able to contend for titles and have only achieved a few successes. This situation does not worry the double world champion Spanish driver.
« Everyone here is humble, everyone here is hungry for success, comments the double Spanish world champion. « Perhaps they haven’t had the experience of fighting for victories, championships, or podiums every weekend.
They have confidence in themselves, they have confidence in themselves and know that they can succeed – they have never done it before.
The mentality with his new team is, according to him, quite different from what he experienced with his previous employers, McLaren and Alpine are very likely in Fernando Alonso’s sights.
« It’s different from all the teams I’ve joined in recent years, which may have had success in the past and were in a comfortable position – they were fourth and happy to be, fifth and happy to be, if we were seventh, there were celebrations. »
Here, there are no celebrations until we win, and it’s very appealing.
Aston Martin has made some strategic recruitments, with Dan Fallows from Red Bull and Eric Blandin from Mercedes joining as Technical Director and Assistant Technical Director respectively. According to Alonso, this showcases the team’s determination.
« We have Lawrence’s leadership – he has been very successful in his life and I see no doubt that F1 won’t be any different, he will succeed sooner or later, he said. « It’s very motivating. »
The new people who joined the team, Dan, Eric, the best, Aston went there [to other teams] and convinced them [to join], so there is something happening in this team that makes it special.
We have the investment, the facilities, and the talent, so it’s just a matter of time – unfortunately, I am not 20 [years old] but I will do my best.
