George Russell felt the need to speak to a “professional” after his crash
George Russell opens up about his relationship with mental health and discusses his therapy.

High-level athletes live with daily pressure that they must learn to manage in order for it not to become negative. While good physical health is essential, mental health is equally important.
In an interview with Men’s Health magazine, the young driver from Mercedes claims that he started seeing a therapist almost two years ago. « I had a very difficult race, I had a crash. It was the lowest point of my career and I thought I could bounce back from that moment, and I did bounce back, but we decided to talk to a professional and I was very grateful to be advised to do so. »
According to him, physical and mental health are too disconnected when they should be worked on together. Physical health and physical exercise have a huge impact on my mental health, and I think there is too much division between physical health and mental health. I feel like we need to move towards a convergence of the two and make it a holistic health.
George Russell then reveals his trick to clear his mind when he feels down. He goes out of his house to walk or run a little. Breathing fresh air and getting out of the house is a great help, according to him.
