New milestone reached by the Audi brand, which has just invested in the Sauber organization, with the aim of becoming a manufacturer for the 2026 season, in partnership with the team currently racing under the colors of Alfa Romeo.

In its press release, Sauber indicates today that the German brand has acquired a minority stake in the Swiss entity, without providing a specific percentage. The rumors that suggested a buyout of 75% last summer will remain just that.

The Sauber group is pleased to announce that, in accordance with the plans defined in October of last year, Audi acquired a minority stake in the Sauber group in January 2023, as stated in the Swiss group’s press release.

It is an important step towards Audi’s entry into Formula 1, planned for 2026, for which the Sauber group will be the strategic partner of the German brand.

A step that follows the arrival of Andreas Seidl as CEO at Sauber a few weeks earlier.
