Alfa Romeo secures a new title sponsor with Stake, Orlen joins AlphaTauri

Alpha Romeo has announced a title sponsor change for the 2023 season. PKN Orlen is leaving the Swiss team to be replaced by STAKE. Meanwhile, Scuderia AlphaTauri is delighted to announce a multi-year partnership with PKN Orlen.

After three years of collaboration, Alfa Romeo and title sponsor Orlen are parting ways. The team is joining forces with a new title sponsor Stake and changing its name to Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake in 2023.

The company Stake was founded in 2017 and specializes in online casinos and betting, and has already ventured into motorsports by supporting the Fittipaldi brothers, Pietro and Enzo. The Sauber team, who is set to compete in their final season under the name Alfa Romeo, specifies that the contract extends over several years.

“We welcome Stake as the new co-title partner of the team in what represents the beginning of a new era for both of us,” said Alfa Romeo’s new director, Alunni Bravi.

The Formula 1 has experienced a huge renewed interest in recent years and the arrival of brands such as Stake is representative of the massive exposure that our sport can offer. We are delighted to join such a portfolio of sports and entertainment brands and we are looking forward to discovering the program that Stake will unveil for our fans.

AlphaTauri acquires Orlen.

After entering Formula 1 in 2019 through Robert Kubica at Williams, PKN Orlen followed the Polish driver to Alfa Romeo the following year by becoming the title sponsor. Last year, the same team tried to keep the Polish oil refining company, without success. Orlen leaves the Swiss team to become the main partner of AlphaTauri.

“I am delighted to start the 2023 season with such positive news for the team,” commented the Italian team boss Franz Tost.

Orlen is one of the main oil and gas companies in Central Europe, and this partnership will further increase the visibility of their brand, thanks to the global platforms that we offer as a team.

I can’t wait to see their logo on our new car during the launch in New York next month, and also to see how this partnership will evolve over the next few years.

Now, the question is whether Kubica’s Formula 1 testing days are over.
