AlphaTauri and Nyck de Vries on track at Imola
AlphaTauri completed two days of on-track testing at Imola yesterday. It was an opportunity for their new recruit, Nyck de Vries, to try out the asphalt for the first time this year.

Yuki Tsunoda had his turn on Tuesday, and yesterday it was the Dutch driver’s turn. This test session allowed him to warm up for the new season behind the wheel of a 2021 AT01. He completed a few laps in the rain on a rather slippery track.
The 27-year-old driver will begin his first season as a regular driver after joining AlphaTauri last October. He made quite an impression in his first F1 race at Monza last year when he replaced Alexander Albon, who was suffering from appendicitis.
Apart from this training, he won’t have much time to prepare as the only official test before the 2023 season will take place from February 23rd to 25th in Bahrain. Luckily, the former Formula E driver has already gained experience by driving as a reserve driver for Mercedes, Aston Martin, Williams, and Alpine.
