Ferrari will organize a private testing session at Fiorano before Bahrain

Ahead of the first tests of the 2023 season, which will take place in Bahrain, Ferrari will have its drivers drive the car used in 2021. This initial practice session will allow Scuderia Ferrari's drivers to get back in shape to tackle the most condensed season in the history of the sport, with 23 scheduled Grand Prix races.

In order to be able to test the entire team and have both the regular and reserve drivers on track, the Italian team will organize a private test session spread over three days at their Fiorano circuit in January. Additionally, there will be a test session for a promotional shoot after the unveiling of the new prancing horse race car. The exact dates have not been specified but they seem to be around Tuesday 24th, Wednesday 25th, and Thursday 26th of January.

A significant amount of taxiing time.

This winter testing session will take place behind the wheel of the 2021 single-seater to meet the requirements of private testing regulations. Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc will therefore take turns driving the SF-21, each for one day. The two reserve drivers, Antonio Giovinazzi and Robert Shartzman, will each have half a day of driving in the Italian single-seater.

A long period of truce

This session will be a great opportunity for the Scuderia Ferrari drivers to drive a Formula 1 car again, as they haven’t driven a single-seater since the wet Pirelli tests in December. The next official session for all Formula 1 World Championship drivers will take place during the winter testing in Bahrain, from 23rd to 25th February 2023.
