Aston Martin is also fined
Like Red Bull, Aston Martin team was punished for a budget offence on Friday, October 28th. However, the British team gets away with a much smaller fine.
While Red Bull will have to dip into their wallet, Aston Martin was also subject to a sanction.
But the British team did not commit the same offense as the bull structure: the fault lies in an incorrect declaration of the accounting plans. The FIA assured, in its verdict, that there was no intention to cheat.
The measurement of capped budgets has been a real headache for each of the teams, which could have led to unintentional mistakes. It is in this sense that Aston Martin was “forgiven” for a declaration error.
But forgiveness is a big word, since the “Greens” will owe 450,000 dollars to the FIA, which they will have to settle within 30 days. That’s quite different from several million…
