Hamilton does not believe that F1 has entered the “Verstappen” era
The Mercedes driver believes it is still too early to suggest that Max Verstappen and Red Bull will dominate Formula 1 for many more years.

Adorned with a second consecutive world championship crown after a season of absolute dominance, Max Verstappen dazzles the Formula 1 world with his talent behind the wheel of a commanding car which seems to merge seamlessly with him. His recent results are reminiscent of a return to an era of domination, akin to what was witnessed with Michael Schumacher and Ferrari in the early 2000s, or with Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes in the mid-2010s.
Hamilton, who narrowly missed out on an eighth title last season against his Dutch rival, believes that such a statement is still too premature.
« It’s too early to say. If we start next year and they dominate again, then yes, but Ferrari were dominant in qualifications. I think they probably had better performance on most circuits this season. »
In addition to showcasing Ferrari in the future fight for the title in 2023, the seven-time British world champion believes that his team can make a comeback in the game.
What they still lack is improving their pace in running. As for us, I think we have a much bigger step and a steeper hill to climb, but thankfully not impossible.
There are still three races left in 2022, and a few days of testing before the opening of the 2023 season in Bahrain, for Red Bull’s rivals to fine-tune their cars, in order to offer us a fierce fight for the world titles.
