Fernando Alonso forced to retire in his 350th Grand Prix
The Spanish driver had to stop on the 21st lap at the Singapore Grand Prix due to an engine problem on his Alpine.

Fernando Alonso will not make it to the end of the party at Marina Bay this Sunday. While the Spaniard was celebrating his 350th Grand Prix start, setting a new record ahead of Finnish driver Kimi Räikkönen, he had to retire on the 21st lap in Singapore due to an engine problem. His forced stop briefly triggered a virtual safety car. The Alpine driver was in sixth place in the race, after starting from 5th on the grid.
A few laps later, on lap 28 precisely, it is his teammate Esteban Ocon who is forced to retire due to a technical issue, triggering a virtual safety car in turn. A forgettable weekend for the French team…
