Alex Albon will indeed be back in Singapore

During the Italian Grand Prix on September 11th, Nyck de Vries caused a sensation by scoring points in his first Formula 1 Grand Prix. This achievement was made possible by Alex Albon’s withdrawal the day before due to appendicitis, preventing him from driving the FW44 for the rest of the weekend.

The day after the race, Williams stated that the Thai driver experienced complications after his surgery, making his recovery more difficult and longer. However, the British team’s statement already stated the goal of having their driver back for the Singapore Grand Prix.

It is now confirmed, Albon will indeed be present for the return of the Singaporean round to the calendar. First of all, I would like to thank everyone for all the messages and support during the Italian Grand Prix weekend, indicates the former Red Bull driver. My preparation for Singapore has been slightly different than usual but I feel good and I have done everything to be ready for one of the most physically demanding races on the calendar.

Three years ago, Singapore was synonymous with Alex Albon’s third Grand Prix at Red Bull, after his promotion at Spa-Francorchamps a few weeks earlier. Finishing sixth in the race, it will be very difficult for him to do better this season behind the wheel of his Williams car.
