The constructors only have 6 Grand Prix left to bring a rookie behind the wheel of one of their Formula 1 cars. The latest to have driven is Nyck de Vries for Williams.

Several teams have still not called upon rookies for free practice sessions. This is the case for Alpine, McLaren, Haas, and Ferrari.

Ferrari has already planned the two Grand Prixes for which a rookie will drive. These are the Abu Dhabi and United States Grand Prixes. It will be Robert Shwartzman who will conduct the first free practice sessions.

Alpine has still not decided who will drive for them. The rookie was supposed to be Oscar Piastri, but with the controversy surrounding the driver regarding contracts, he will undoubtedly do the free practice sessions at McLaren for next year.

The other teams had at least one rookie drive in the practice sessions. Nyck de Vries is the driver who has done the most with 3 free practice sessions behind the wheel of Mercedes, Williams, and Aston Martin.

Alfa Romeo doesn’t need two rookies. Zhou Guanyu is considered one of them for the Bahrain Grand Prix. The second rookie should be Théo Pourchaire, who will either drive in Mexico or during the United States Grand Prix.

The other rookies expected to take the wheel of a Formula 1 car are Liam Lawson for Red Bull, Logan Sargeant for Williams, Pietro Fittipaldi for Haas, Felipe Drugovich for Aston Martin, and also Colton Herta or Patricio O’Ward for McLaren.

The teams will have to quickly plan the practice sessions in which the rookies should participate in order to comply with the rules and be able to formulate a strategy for the Grand Prix.
