Tsunoda will start with a ten-place grid penalty at Monza
Having received his fifth reprimand since the beginning of the season in Zandvoort, the AlphaTauri driver will be subjected to a ten-place grid penalty for the next Grand Prix.

It was a powerful image from the Dutch Grand Prix last weekend. Yuki Tsunoda’s AlphaTauri stopped on the track due to an alleged loose wheel, and then resumed after his team checked it. During this short stop, the Japanese driver had time to loosen his safety harness before returning to his pit. On the next lap, Tsunoda finally parked his car due to a differential problem.
For having driven in dangerous conditions, Pierre Gasly’s teammate received his fifth reprimand this season. However, the sporting regulations are clear. According to Article 18.2: « Any driver who receives five reprimands in the same championship, upon the imposition of the fifth one, will be given a ten-place grid penalty for the following race. If the fifth reprimand is imposed following an incident during the race, the ten-place grid penalty will be applied at the next event. »
The sanction will therefore apply at Monza next weekend. A very bad news for Tsunoda who will participate in Italy for his team’s second home Grand Prix after the one in Emilia-Romagna a few months ago.
